A couple of questions, which Mod Manager are you using? Vortex or BG3MM? If the latter, you have to delete out of the mod manager, but then also go into the game data and delete the mods from the mod folder, and the meta file that the mod manager creates for the mods.
Clean install requires you to uninstall and delete your game, documents, and Appdata\local \Larian Studios folders. Another thing to try if you keep getting the data mismatch message is to turn off steam cloud save and delete baldur's gate 3 folder in Steam\userdata
Guide here. If you want to completely uninstall mods after the new patch, this will give you a clean reset without needing to redownload. I didn’t make this, it just worked for me, hope it’s useful for others.
