12 sie 2021 · I have a peavey standard 260H that i am trying to date. the serial number is 5a-42240. haven't had luck figuring out the manufature date. i read somewhere that the first two numbers were the production year, but this amp is definitely not from 42. thanks guys.
10 lip 2011 · Serial numbers correlate to shipping dates of US models only. 1978 to 1995. Imports designated by EX, EXP, or BXP are not serialized by year. For more recent US serial numbers, please contact Peavey Customer Service.
The 1st three numbers of your serial number will always provide your manufacture date. The 1 st number is the YEAR of manufacture; the 2 nd & 3 rd numbers indicate the MONTH of manufacture. Please see the detailed explanation and examples provided below.
20 mar 2023 · I have a USA Peavey Wolfgang which I’ve owned since 2007 but I really want to know what date it was built. It’s a trans amber and the serial number is: 91023148. If someone could tell me how you use these numbers to see what date it was built that would be great because looking on the web doesn’t give you a definitive answer.
17 sty 2010 · If you have a serial number for that amp, send an email to customerservice AT peavey DOT com. Tell them the model name and serial number and ask if they can tell you when it was manufactured. -Dave Jerry Overstreet
Look for manufacturer date codes on the components -transformers, pots, large caps and resistors, speakers if they're original, etc. If you look on the Peavey forums, they have a list of all the serial numbers and how to read them, after (IIRC) 1977 or so.
