24 cze 2009 · Do any of you know of a good 'how-to' giude on making plain leather scabbards? I wish I could make a wood-core one, but I don't really have any tools to work with wood. I've taken it upon myself to provide a soft, comfy home for my FableBlade Sword of Garrigal to rest in and be transported in, but well... I have no idea where to start. ;D
Then you buy yourself a new Mora fixed-blade knife. After that, you watch several Utoob videos about how to make a leather knife-sheath. Then you buy veg-tanned leather for it--chrome-tanned will wreak the knife. And you also buy leather-crafting tools. Finally you make a sheath that fits your new knife.
Strip the leather covering an inch or so above and below the break. Glue the broken pieces back together neatly. Take a length of fabric webbing and soak it well in epoxy as though making micarta. Wrap the join covering the cut ends of the leather. Cross your fingers. You could add splints to the above method, but that would probably look lumpy.
