4 mar 2020 · Learn how to use tip tinner, a key tool for maintaining soldering iron tips, with our easy six-step guide. Prevent oxidation and enhance your tools.
19 paź 2018 · Just wipe the oxidized tip at normal soldering temperatures into the tip tinner for a few seconds until the bright tinning surrounds the working end of the tip. It’s fast acting, residue free. Use a conventional solder wire with rosin base flux of sufficient diameter .032" (.80 mm)
Rotate the tip in the tinner for 3-4 seconds and ensure that the entire working area is exposed to the compound. Clean off excess tinner with your brass or cellulose sponge. Overuse of tip tinner will reduce tip lifespan. The aggressive flux in tip tinner will, over time, degrade the iron plating.
Combine a quality tip with proper care and maintenance, and you will enjoy faster soldering speeds and fewer tip change-overs. Techspray manufactures Plato branded soldering tools, includes replacement tips for many popular soldering stations.
17 paź 2018 · Step One: Try using a brass sponge or copper braid to clean off any particles or oxidation by inserting the tip and twisting a few times. If this didn’t clean it, apply solder with a flux core, and repeat. Step Two: If the tip is still not clean, apply tip cleaner (also known as tip tinner or activator).
Procedure #1: Tin the tip before putting it into storage . Turn off power supply. Clean tip with brass curls. Tin tip with solder. Replace the hand piece in the work stand. Note: It is recommended to turn the power supply off before cleaning the tip for storage.
