1. Prepare Your Walls. Measure the height and width of the area where you will be installing the wall panels. Decide whether you want to create an illusion of height with vertical slats or an illusion of space with horizontal slats. Once you have decided, clean the surface of your wall with a dry cloth to remove dust and dirt.
Install the first lower slat along the bottom edge of the wall in the exact center of the wall. Use a level to ensure that the slat is perfectly plumb. Apply construction adhesive to the back of the slat and nail it to the wall using a trim nail gun.
