Hey guys I’m new here, the last few weeks I’ve been playing my wii for the first in time in 7 or 8 years. I want to homebrew it. How do I do that and are there any risks in doing so?
Wiimednafen, snes9xGx, and genplus GX are all solid emulators that I have had good experiences with. USB Loader Gx / Wiiflow and Nintendont allow you to boot GameCube and Wii games from an external usb hard drive, which is fantastic in increasing the lifespan of your wii.
i want to homebrew my wii (letterbomb) and i have heard that video guides arent good so i decided to use text guides instead. someone told me that wii.guide is a good website for learning how to homebrew.

Install the Homebrew Channel on your Wii console by following the homebrew setup tutorial. Browse the homebrew directory, or use the Open Shop Channel, which allows you to install directly from your Wii over Wi-Fi. Start developing homebrew for Wii by downloading devkitPPC and reading the homebrew development guide.
Now that you have the Homebrew Channel installed, you can launch homebrew applications. Search http://wiibrew.org for homebrew you can use. After you download it, extract the ZIP file and copy the application folder to the apps folder on your SD card or USB drive.
The Homebrew Channel is a self-updating homebrew application loader by Team Twiizers which allows users to load homebrew applications without having to run an exploit every time. Once installed, users can access the channel from the Wii System Menu just like any other Wii channel.
