Try going deeper into the sulphurous sea, but i guess it has to do something with thorium's aquatic depths (mixing content mods is a bad idea)))) Just keep going deeper under the sulfurous sea, you should find it eventually.

Post Polter is where you have the best options for surviving the abyss. I'd recommend Gills Potions and Abyssal Diving Suit. The Strange Orb light pet can be very helpful for visibility. If you can get around and not be hit, Amidias' Blessing is an invaluable asset.
