I recommend practicing on an old CPU or a faulty 80gb PS3. If you don’t already know the true cause of the Yellow Light of Death. It is the failing NEC Tokin capacitors. All of the other repairs such as Reballing, Heatgun/Oven fix are all snake oil lies.

21 gru 2022 · On the Playstation 3, the NEC/TOKIN capacitors are prone to failure, causing a Yellow Light if Death error. This is a guide on replacing those capacitors. The Yellow Light of Death is not an error with one specific fix; rather, it is a more general failure.
Now some RSX GPUs might be fixed by a reball, while others might be damaged internally. Because of that, I also made video about how to repair many of BC YLOD consoles by swapping its GPU with the newer more reliable revisions, which can be taken from slim and some super slim consoles.
There is now a newest Syscon diagnostics method which can show you an error code and help you nearly pinpoint faulty components. Sadly, most of the YLOD cases still turn out to be RSX related. Here is a link for the Syscon diagnostics tutorial.
