So I’ve been trying to get my iPhone 2G unlocked for quite a while to use another carrier than that it wants. Since I still have 2G towers and a few carriers that support it. Is there an updated PXL file I’m missing or and I just doing it all wrong?

Restore and jailbreak again using redsn0w but leave unlock unchecked. Try unlocking using BootNeuter from Cydia, this is what works for me. If it's saying Sim failure then that means your T-Mobile Sim card is to new to work on a 2G phone. Hello All!
