Try setting your DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 (right click the connection goto properties or something like that> right click on ipv4 and goto properties again, and then put in your own DNS servers(8.8.8.8 in this case)) 8.8.8.8 is Google's free dns.
21 lip 2015 · Hi, I'm trying to run a Windows XP guest on a windows XP host and seem to have trouble connecting to some websites. Websites such as Google and Youtube don't work and IE says the page could not be displayed and that it could not find the server or there was a DNS error.
You can try to enable TLS 1.0 but even that should be shut off on most web servers now. You'll find this setting under Internet Options > Advanced. Best bet is to try downloading a modern browser that will still run on Windows XP, like Firefox.

24 gru 2008 · Make sure that your primary DNS server is really working by querying it in your host, since Virtualbox will only use only one DNS server (there's no secondary one to fallback). You can also try accessing a site by IP address to see if a net connection can actually be made.
