The best way to handle sticky trumpet valves is to keep the valves well lubricated with good quality valve oil. If you practice every day, you should oil the trumpet’s valves at least once each week. Those that play for long periods each day will need to oil the valves more frequently.

One of the easiest fixes to unstick trumpet valves is to use valve oil. You can turn your trumpet so that it’s upside down and see the small holes at the bottom of the pistons. Add a few drops of valve oil into the affected valves, and turn your trumpet onto the side so the oil can move around.
I have a problem with a low-end trumpet ($100 range, so you get what you paid for). The valves occasionally get stuck-ish, and won't depress fully after being pressed (they stop at around ~2/3 or 3/4 way up).
5 lut 2006 · When I sent the trumpet it had a valve sticking problem - all 3 valves were sticky regardless of my best cleaning efforts. I looked carefully at pistons for scratch patterns for evidence of metal-metal interactions but found none.
