Add page numbers to a header or footer. Double-click in the header or footer where you want the page numbers to go. Go to Insert > Page Numbering. Select Current Position. Choose a style. Change where the page number appears. In the header or footer area, select the page number. Use the Tab key to position the page number left, center, or right.
