28 maj 2024 · Tiny, pink-skinned, eyes-closed babies under 2 weeks of age should get 0.5 to 1 cc (ml) every 2 hours. Open-eyed, fully-furred babies from 2-6 weeks of age should get 2-4 cc (ml) every 3 hours. From about 6 weeks of age until the baby is weaned, feed them 4-5 cc (ml) every 4 hours.
Begin feeding every 2 hours when you first get a baby squirrel after it has been rehydrated, then adjust the schedule based on age as follows. Please note the amount of each feeding has been left out as this has to be based on the babies weight in grams.
Gently hold the baby squirrel in your hand and carefully insert the syringe or dropper into its mouth. Be sure to feed the baby squirrel slowly and allow it to swallow the formula before giving it more. It is important to feed the baby squirrel every 2-3 hours, including during the night.
