You'd still have to get to Homer or Kenai and then you would be routed back through Anchorage and then on to Kodiak, which would cost you about twice as much as a direct flight from Anchorage. The ferry is a nice trip if you have the time and can find a schedule that accomodates your travel.
You cannot get a scheduled flight from Seward to Kodiak. You could take a ferry as an alternative but air or water are the only way to get to Kodiak.
