26 lip 2022 · Just how big is Wrangell-St Elias National Park? Really, really, big. In fact, Wrangell-St Elias is the largest national park in the United States. It is twice as big as Denali National Park and six times the size of Yellowstone! 13.2 million acres is its official size, and honestly I can’t really wrap my head around that.

Authorized by Congress in 1980, Wrangell-St. Elias preserves some of the largest rivers, glaciers, mountains, and wilderness in America. The name of the park newspaper, K’ełt’aeni (kel-TAH-nee), is an Ahtna word for the Wrangell volcano that means “The one that controls the weather.”
Located along the Richardson and Edgerton Highways, this area contains the park's main visitor center at Park Headquarters, the Wrangell-St. Elias Visitor Center. Access to the park from here requires flying or at least a one hour (one-way) drive.
25 mar 2023 · The park charges an entrance fee of $15 per person for visitors over the age of 16. This fee is valid for up to seven consecutive days. Visitors can enter and exit the park as many times as they want during the seven-day period.
