The Detroit Lakes Area Learning Center (DLALC) first opened its doors September 4th, 2001. With a skeleton staff in one makeshift room on the Detroit Lakes MState campus, the DLALC started. Within months, our location shifted to the 3rd floor of the Detroit Lakes Community and Cultural Center for the next 14 years.
Tuesday night, the ALC kicked off the first Family Night of the year. Attendees enjoyed fall crafts, a delicious traditional wild rice hotdish, and Native American storytelling by Mike Swan. ALC staff are excited to continue strengthening connections with the community and families and are looking forward to the NEXT Family Night in DECEMBER!
