29 lip 2024 · When we use angles to define the dimensions of a picture, we talk of the angle of view. The angle of view is pretty easy to visualize: your camera lies at the center of a sphere, and connecting the angles of the scene you are capturing to its center gives you a set of three angles:
E.g. if you enter the size in cm, the calculated distance will be in centimeters. The visual angle is the angle formed from two imaginary lines projecting from the eye. One goes to the top (or left) of the object and the other goes to the bottom (or right) of the object.
Determine the focal length required, angular field of view, object space resolution, and primary magnification of a given imaging application based on the sensor size, pixel size, working distance, and field of view in mm. Visual angle is the angle a viewed object subtends at the eye, usually stated in degrees of arc. It also is called the object's angular size.
Field of view defines the maximum area of a sample that a camera can image, determined by the focal length of the lens and the sensor size. Sensor size is determined by both the size of the pixels and number of pixels on the sensor.
