The EDPA Certification is a Texas State Veterinary Board approved testing process in order to verify a provider’s knowledge and skill of practicing equine dentistry. Before becoming licensed in Texas, applicants who pass Certification may then apply for the state licensing exam.
Applicants for an Equine Dental Provider (EDP) license in Texas must be certified by either the International Association of Equine Dentists (IAED) or the Equine Dental Providers of America (EDPA), or another Board-approved entity.

The Academy Of Equine Dentistry offers courses in February, July, and November. Equine Dental and Oral Anatomy Courses offered are: 100 Equine Dental and Oral Anatomy course (24 hours) 100 First Level beginning dentistry course (80 hours) 200 Second Level intermediate dentistry course (80 hours)
Candidates must be a graduate of a formal equine dental education program with at least 240 hours of education; Candidates that have attended a Veterinary School must have 80 hours designated for equine dental education; Recommendation to have a signature of an IAED Certified Member who will testify to the candidate’s ability
