1 sty 2004 · Easiest way to tell the difference is that the type R valve covers are red, unless they try to hide it and use a regular black valve cover. Another way to identify some of the more popular swaps are with the DOHC VTEC letters. If the DOHC is bigger then it is usually as GSR or older B16.
31 paź 2010 · The first valve cover you posted, is a Usdm ITR V/C (no Honda badge), and the second is a JDM ITR V/C (with Honda badge). They're all interchangeable with any B-Series Vtec head. Save Share

20 sty 2011 · I am basically making this thread and asking this question because I've heard from a couple of sources that the type-s head, supposedly has different valve angles than your normal h22a4 engine. With that being said, I would assume that the Euro-R would too, share these same odd ball valve angles.
11 sty 2017 · A large number of Generation 2 CR-Vs sold in the USA (2002 - 2006), were made in the UK. Reliability is about the same compared to Japan-built Vs. (VIN starting with J) You need to watch out for the differences. Simple things like rear tail-light bulbs can trip you up.
14 sty 2015 · K20-R and K24 valve covers side by side So here is the difference. It's a small difference but will cause you to have oil shooting out from the valve cover on the cam gear side. The K24 valve cover has a more narrow cam chain cover than the K20. The gasket hangs over and does not seal on this side. K24 valve cover.
I didn't think it would make a huge difference, but seeing them side-by-side and seeing the new one on the car really made me realise how dirty the old one was and how a little TLC under the bonnet can really go a long way.
