Gamzee Makara is a major antagonist of the Homestuck franchise. He is a purpleblooded troll who, while silly and harmless when his mind is under the influence of his "sopor slime", is a murderous nightmare when sober.
Gamzee appears to have a true immortality, no matter how fatal his wounds may be he never dies. We've seen John die and resurrect, it was very obvious when it happened. Gamzee did not resurrect after Caliborn's fatal wounds, he simply got back up and survived them.
