4 cze 2018 · The customers I have had that have the best luck using a trap designed to where live bait leads the predator into the trap. The trap height seems to be best with a open door height of 20" or more. The width of the door is best to be at least 13" or more.
A common mistake is to have a wobbly coyote trap buried under the ground. When a coyote steps on the side of the trap and is not initially right on the pan, or trigger of the trap, they will feel the trap wobble. When a coyote feels that trap wobble it will dig it up.
Wobbly traps spook coyotes. When you buy new traps, spend time at home learning exactly how they work before setting them in the field. I like to load the springs, and then flip the free jaw of the trap over (as shown in the photo), so that even if the trap fires accidentally, I'm not getting caught myself.

9 wrz 2024 · There are several sets or ways you can bury a foothold trap and get a coyote to step on it. When you position and bait a trap for a coyote to get caught in you are making a set. Knowing different ways to make sets is very helpful. Sets like a dirt hole set or a flat set are good options when trapping coyotes.
