CJ Spare Tire Carrier DIY. After looking for some time for a good spare tire carrier that can hold something bigger than a 235 size tire I became quite disgusted. You see it is easy to find a good carrier if you have $500 or more.
7 sty 2011 · #1 · Jan 7, 2011. This is a fun project for building a rack above your spare tire. First you will need to make the support beams that will attach to your tire swing. In my case I did not have room between the tire carrier and the rear door at the bottom, so I needed to bend the square tube 10* inward in order to get it to mount right.
12 gru 2011 · Anyone have any ideas for a home made cargo rack for the back of my wrangler? If so post pics and give ideas, I just don't feel like blowing 300 on a cargo rack when I could just weld one together..
5 sty 2020 · I have a bumper/tire carrier fabricated by DIRTWORX that has a removable cargo rack above the spare tire. I like it a lot but only run it if I’m camping. Easy to access and can hold a reasonable amount of weight.
9 wrz 2018 · I decided to build my own spare tire swing arm by welding structure under the bumper to poke up through the top of the bumper and hold the spare, CB antenna, Fuel cans (to be added later) and a flag for the dunes.
23 sie 2005 · I am wanting to integrate a reciever hitch into the tire carrier that will allow you to "plug in" modular attachments (ie. bike rack, high lift carrier, ladder, what ever else) through the hub on the spare tire.
16 lis 2005 · Jeep really needed something more to make it stand out. Using steel square tubing from Sears, and an assortment of bolts, nuts, washers, u-bolts, and spray paint, i fabricated this roof-top spare tire carrier. I attached it to my existing THULE roof rack.
