My homebrew antenna tuner is capable of handling 100 watts if I need to use it with my IC-7200 XCVR. I will publish the results of my experimental tuner on this page as I progress through variations of it.
BUILD AN HF ANTENNA TUNER MAKE A HOMEBREW HF-VHF ANTENNA TUNER (It really isn't all that difficult.) This page details several T-match tuners. By comparing them, you should be able to construct a tuner to your own particular requirements.
18 kwi 2020 · Antenna tuners (more accurately referred to as “transmatches”) make great homebrew projects; they are reasonably simple to build and, when finished, provide a useful piece of equipment. Every shack should have (at least) one.
19 mar 2023 · You should add that to the Homebrew antenna section in the Wiki. Can you link the calculator you used to obtain the measurements? Might be fun to make one for different bands.
This homebrew legal-limit antenna tuner is based on the famous "Ultimate Transmatch" introduced by the late Lew McCoy, W1ICP. The Ultimate Transmatch was described in the "Beginner and Novice" section of the July 1970 QST (Page 24).
the antenna feed line (balanced open-wire or ladder line, probably connected to a dipole or loop) is coupled to the resonant tuned circuit by a pair of mechanically linked variable capacitors (C2) in series
With proper system design, an antenna tuner or transmatch can allow a non-resonant antenna to operate nearly as efficiently as one that is carefully cut to resonance. These articles and links will help you understand what needs to be done to make and use effective an antenna system using a transmatch.
