While Alone in various harsh and unforgiving types of terrain, these men and women must hunt, build shelters and fend off predators, all while documenting the experience themselves. It's the ultimate test of their will and survival skill.
The most consistent factor to winning is food. The Bairds won because they harvested limpets in massive amounts while the Whipples couldnt get enough food. I think the Whipples were better at living off the land, and if Alone was not such an artificial environment they would have won.

Three out of 100 contestants have secured large game and won the prize. However, that is not to say they would not have won anyway. The primary meat contribution has been grouse. Mikey may have set the record with 19. We do not know if someone else got more, so we will crown him "Grouse King".
