14 paź 2011 · I was wanting to start a thread that collects all the info about MP5 magazines. Things like date codes, markings, first year of the curved style, last year of straight style. Also would like to get into how each style performs in which gun using what type of ammo.

Heckler & Koch MP5 Identification Guide. This page is intended as a guide to identify the various H&K manufactured MP5 variants. This list contains all firearms that could be confused for an MP5 by the average person. Some of these firearms are not true MP5's, but bear strong resemblances to them.
The first MP5 models used a double-column straight box magazine, but since 1977, slightly curved steel magazines have been used with a 15-round capacity (weighing 0.12 kg) or a 30-round capacity (0.17 kg empty).
3 paź 2007 · Is there any reference online that identifies the different types of factory MP5 mags and markings. I am particularly interested to know if HK produced a 40 rd magazine for the MP5. I would also like to know what the "SD" means on many of the early 30 rd stick magazines.
19 lis 2023 · I was lucky enough to purchase many MP5 magazines from an old HK dealer who closed he shop 20+ yrs ago. Most are originals HK's but not sure about these 20 magazines. I've searched this site and found this helpful post, link below.
22 mar 2017 · The standard curved HK MP5 magazine is a steel box that holds 30 rounds of 9mm in a double stack column. Empty, the magazine weighs around 179 grams. The curvature is supposed to help feed 9mm rounds, although at one time H&K did make a straight magazine.
10 cze 2022 · The majority if not all the HK LEO mags were marked on 10-94, but the actual manufactured date on the mags can very. I have seen ones that are IE marked would indicate they were made in 1984, and the one used in this article is IK marked which indicates it was made in 1989.
