28 mar 2017 · Are there basic instructions for building an MP5 from a kit. I have two particular questions that seem too simple to have been covered in all the detailed instructions I read: 1.
The ammunition is fed from either a 15 or 30 (standard) round magazine. The MP5 is capable of being fitted with a variety of accessories including buttstocks of different configurations as well as trigger groups, handguards, scope mounts, blank firing attachments, grenade launchers and much more.
Due to the modularity of the MP5 a wide range of tailor made models can be created. These include forearms with integrated lights, semi-automatic trigger groups, accessory rails for optics and laser, etc.
The cyclic rate of fire is 800 rounds per minute. The production quality, closed bolt operation and free floating barrel result in a high accuracy. The maximum effective range is quoted as 150 to 200 meters. The MP5 and its variants are the most widely used sub machine guns in the world.
The main variants MP5, MP5 SD and MP5 K in their respective individual configurations show what classic submachine guns in calibre 9 mm x 19 can deliver today. The MP5 is primarily aimed at police units and first response forces engaging area targets.
