Has anyone tried the cargo hitch carrier? It’s on sale for $45. I might need it soon for an upcoming vacation trip. It would just be luggage and supplies. Nothing near the stated 500 pound capacity. Thanks!
The haul master products are great if the set up is correct, will last a long time. There’s a massive difference in trailer control between a chain style WDH like the one Harbor Freight sells and a ‘all in one’ hitch like an Equalizer or Husky. Look on RV sites for recommendations and reviews.
8 lis 2004 · I'm in the market for a hitch carrier to haul a xt225, pretty light bike. I had a near disaster with a cheap-ass Harbor Freight model years ago, so those are out. I've heard good things about the Versa Haul, but damn those are pricey.
16 lut 2015 · It repaired in about an hour by taking two short pieces of angle iron and bolting the carrier to it and then welding them to the 2" piece that goes into the receiver. Mine looks way rougher than Sawatch's, but it certainly is sturdy now.
23 kwi 2020 · This original hitch rack was home-made from the worlds heaviest steel, was at least two feet longer than what was needed for my scooters, and had a ramp made from something like 8mm aluminum channel that was the length of the carrier.
They're very bad, as are all hitch carriers. They massively overload most people's tongue ratings on cars. They bounce like hell and I would never recommend them to anyone. They're especially bad if you use it on a unibody car like your Tiguan instead of a body-on-frame car like your Aviator.
