  1. OILTON. Located in the northwestern corner of Creek County, Oilton is situated south of the Cimarron River on State Highway 99. Approximately thirty-two miles from the county seat of Sapulpa, Oilton had its start as an oil-boom town during the development of Cushing-Drumright Field.

A post office was established May 5, 1915. The First State Bank opened and the newspaper, the Oilton Gusher, began publication in 1915.
