20 lip 2023 · The hippocampus is a convex elevation of gray matter tissue within the parahippocampal gyrus inside the inferior temporal horn of the lateral ventricle. One can describe it more holistically as a curved and recurved sheet of the cortex that folds into the temporal lobe's medial surface.
This interactive brain model is powered by the Wellcome Trust and developed by Matt Wimsatt and Jack Simpson; reviewed by John Morrison, Patrick Hof, and Edward Lein. Structure descriptions were written by Levi Gadye and Alexis Wnuk and Jane Roskams. Copyright © Society for Neuroscience (2017).

6 lis 2021 · The hippocampus is a complex structure located in the mesial temporal lobe that plays a critical role in cognitive and memory-related processes.
6 lis 2021 · Hippocampus is an elongated convex structure deep in the medial temporal lobe and presents an elevation (Figures 1 and 2) along the floor of the inferior horn of the lateral ventricle (1, 2, 4). The hippocampus has the archipallial cortex and is formed by the infoldings of the dentate gyrus, cornu ammonis and subiculum (1, 4, 9–11). The ...
30 paź 2023 · The hippocampus is an elongated convex structure bulging in the floor and medial wall of the temporal horn of the lateral ventricle. It is about 5 cm long and widest at its anterior extent where it bends toward the medial aspect of the brain.
The first part describes the fine structures of the hippocampus and is illustrated with new original figures. A survey is then provided of current concepts explaining the functions of the hippocampus, and the external and internal hippocampal vascularization is precisely described.
