Our services are client focused and are based on research and targeted to promote accountability, address risk to our community, and achieve behavior change. CJS consists of four programs: Pretrial Services, Reports and Assessment Services, Probation, and Specialty Courts.
Pretrial Services allows qualifying individuals to be released from jail while awaiting a court hearing. Utilizing the least restrictive conditions possible, Pretrial will: Provide a non-financial release from jail and case management or tracking through case disposition.

Jail Screeners, who screen individuals shortly after they have been booked in the Salt Lake County Jail, can directly release some individuals who have been charged with lower-level non-violent offenses. For all other individuals, they are ordered to Pretrial Services by a judge.
HIPP is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS). Through HIPP, the state purchases cost-effective, employer-sponsored health insurance for Medicaid recipients.
