Hessian Line Infantry are a type of line infantry in Empire: Total War. “Marching regiments” or “line battalions” make up the majority of units in European-style armies. They are so called because they form the line of battle, not because they always deploy in lines.
Hessian infantry regiments were single battalion units. Each battalion consisted of ten companies or 770 men. In wartime, converged grenadier battalions were formed from the grenadier companies of the musketeer regiments of line.
