Once you are on the HESC website, create a HESC-specific user name and personal identification number called a HescPIN. You will use your HescPIN to "sign" your TAP application and access your HESC account information in the future.
How to Apply. From the FAFSA confirmation page, follow the Apply Now link for New York state-based financial aid. Visit hesc.ny.gov/tap for eligibility criteria, application deadlines, and a link to the application.
TAP is available to students attending a SUNY, CUNY or not-for-profit independent degree-granting colleges on a full or part-time basis. You must submit a FAFSA application to receive payment for TAP. If you have not submitted a FAFSA, go to https://studentaid.gov.
