1000mzh is better than 500hz in technological aspect and may increase or decrease your performance very slightly in different games because of the way game engines work. It is very similar as if you would want to lower your FPS from 1000 to 500. Good luck!

500HZ is not necessarily giving you a very noticeable disadvantage, similar to 800DPI to 1600 or 60 gram mice to 50, but if you are used to one thing and play insanely well on it, why change that much?
