I've had the same problem, solved it with Virtual Cable routing my audio through SAVIHost with SPAN in it. I also would like to add that you always can use a free standalone vst host and a free vst spectrum analyzer like SPAN or MAnalyzer and passthrough all your computer audio to it. It's not hard to do.
