Sand Sharks are Hardmode enemies found in the Desert Biome only during a Sandstorm. They are able to "swim" through all varieties of Sand, Hardened Sand, and Sandstone Blocks, but will collide normally against any other block.
It currently says that the great sand shark can be spawned right after killing plantera, by killing 10 regular sand sharks. however, I've been trying for quite a bit, and it hasn't spawned at all. No matter how many times I go back and kill plantera, the shark won't spawn during sandstorms when I kill 10 sand sharks.
I'd build at least 2 (1 crimson 1 corrupt) - then once you get those sharks, spray them with hallow solution (light blue) to get the crystal shark.
