Over six months, Houston in Action facilitated the creation of a 2021 Harris County Commissioners Court Unity Map with our member groups Mi Familia Vota, Pure Justice, OCA Greater Houston, and EMGAGE Action. These organizations mapped a total of 43 communities of interest with community leaders throughout Harris County.
We bring the experience of being conscientious facilitators grounded in racial justice, equity, equitable access to justice, and who possess a willingness to break down the barriers that have limited the influencing power of communities of color.
The Complete Communities Initiative is a collaborative effort involving residents, community stakeholders, and all City of Houston Departments and Divisions with City leadership from the Mayor’s office of Complete Communities, the Planning and Development Department, the Department of Neighborhoods and the Chief Resilience Officer.
