  2. If you are enrolled as a student in university, HBO, or MBO, you can apply for student finance. Apply in time, preferably 8 weeks before your student finance is due to start, so you don’t miss out on any money.

  3. The basic grant is a gift if you are in MBO level 1 (‘entrée-opleiding’) or 2. For MBO level 3 or 4, HBO, and university programmes, the basic grant is a ‘performance grant’. This means the basic grant becomes a gift if you obtain your diploma within 10 years.
