Why you should go: The free-falling waters of Akaka Falls are a must-see, especially considering the easy hike to get there.
The island is packed with breathtaking trails that’ll take you through lush rainforests, past roaring waterfalls, and up to stunning viewpoints. First stop off might be the Kilauea Iki Trail. You’ll find it nestled in the heart of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
