20 kwi 2003 · Following is a series of dipole radiation pattern plots, produced by a popular antenna modeling program. The first plot below shows a dipole at an elevation of two wavelengths above a standard earth ground model. Note the multiple lobes at varying elevation angles above the horizontal.
Introduction. The aim of Part 1 of this Annex is to provide comprehensive and detailed information on the theoretical characteristics of HF transmitting antennas. The analytical approach followed is to calculate the pattern and directivity gain for any of the included antenna types.
OW ELEVATION ANGLE(a in Fig, 6). Therefore, to judge antenna performance, it is more useful to have an antenna pattern showing the radiation at 30. egrees or more above the horizon. Figure 8 is a diagram showing the signal strength (represented by vectors) radiated from a typical half-wave dipole anten.
The antenna selection chart in Fig. 66 gives some general guidelines for the choice of a suitable antenna for a given type of service according to the required distance range. Two different categories are considered: short distance and medium/long distance services.
investigate and verify the effective radiation pattern of a variety of types of HF antennas. The measurements have been performed by using airborne equipment. The results of these measurements on non-obstructed antennas confirm that the radiation patterns of the main beam are
THE HAND-HELD RADIO ANTENNA DILEMMA – 4 – •Adding appropriate lengths of radial material at the base of the antenna provides a ground plane for improved radiation pattern and counterpoise for known RF current return path. (C)2016 - NO1PC, JIM ASPINWALL
28 kwi 2023 · Given the high quality of today’s transceivers, the most important station component is the antenna system that starts at the RF connector of your radio and ends a wavelength or two away. Gains and losses anywhere in the system affect signal strength.
