16 lip 2014 · Half-Life: Uplink is the official public demo for Half-Life. It includes an exclusive chapter (and a training level) with content not found in the full release. Note that the demo uses an older version of GoldSrc and may have compatibility issues with modern systems.
Requirements. Steam; Full version of Half-Life for Steam, installed and launched at least once. Half-Life: Source (which comes with Half-Life 2) will NOT work; you must have the classic GoldSrc version instead. 13 kwi 2024 · Normal is the main game. Darkstar is a very old (but good) mod that was distributed by PC gamer I believe. Uplink is the Half Life 1 demo, which is basically a short campaign with maps not included in the base game.

The demo levels aren't included in the Steam version of Half-Life. This release should guarantee compatibility on par with the Valve's efforts: the entire point of HL!UL!SL is to play Half-Life: Uplink from within Steam, which means using the current Half-Life GoldSrc engine.
Despite being labelled as the demo version of the game, Uplink features a brand new chapter not found in the full game. The player takes control of Gordon Freeman in an alternate timeline. The game begins at the entrance to the Lambda Reactor Complex, 48 hours after the "containment failure".
16 cze 2014 · Half-Life Uplink was the official demo released in 1999, and it contained a few unique levels that didn't appear in Half-Life. This is the original installer, it may have some problems with newer OSs and it doesn't have some features of the Steam version like 32-bit color mode.
