1 sty 2020 · On June 26, 2019, the owners of Hahnemann University Hospital (HUH) announced that the 171-year-old hospital would undergo a rapid shutdown by September, starting with an immediate wind down in services [1]. Many trainees, faculty, and patients first heard of the shutdown on the local news.
The closure of Hahnemann University Hospital, which was announced on June 26, 2019, resulted in the most significant graduate medical education displacement in history, sending over 550 residents to new institutions within a month of the announcement.
