Always take storyline doors (Sisyphus, Eurydice, Patrocleus). They pause the timer. Use companion trinkets for miniboss and boss fights to shave off lots of time. Meg is the most recommended. In Styx, take a miniboss chamber first. They are the fastest to clear.
It really depends on your play style. Malphon weapon is my personal favorite and I’ve found out how I can output a lot of damage in a short time. Find your favorite weapon and start with 9 minutes just to get the hang of a timer and speedrunning through chambers. Good luck!
I've been mostly going for high heat runs, but am willing to try speedrunning with 0 heat just for the heck of it. During what instances does the timer stop? Special rooms (Sisyphus,..), talking to and choosing god boons, fishing..
