For solo open world and dungeons, if you don't have access to Bladesworn, your best bet is likely Spellbreaker with axe/axe and greatsword. Strength runes are luckily better solo than Scholar. Together with Forceful Greatsword, they'll cover your might, and Arcing Slice covers fury.
Build Fundamentals. Hammer Spellbreaker gains a massive damage increase from Attacker's Insight, as disabling foes or removing boons grants 50 Power, Precision, and Ferocity per stack. Using Crowd Control abilities on Hammer increases your damage for the period of time you will be on Dagger/Axe.
Power Bladesworn is a high burst DPS build with large amounts of cleave for dealing with adds and excels in short phases. The build requires good knowledge of positioning in encounters because you cannot move during Dragon Trigger.
