3 lip 2024 · Info: Summited Mount Guyot today; snow was variable, used snowshoes from the beginning of the trail after leaving the road, all the way up to about 300ft away from the summit. Switched to microspikes and had some bulletproof sections throughout the rocks.

Named after Arnold (Henri) Guyot (1807-1874) a famous geologist from Switzerland, Mount Guyot (pronounced gui-oat) is the centerpiece of the Front Range’s southwest region.

Google Map. Trailhead. From Main Street in Breckenridge, turn east on Wellington which is just north of the Main St./Lincoln stop light. Follow Wellington through a residential area with tons of stop signs. Continue on Wellington to dirt and past mines.

The trail head lies at the southwest corner of Loop B (see the trail PDF below). Follow the trail for 4.6 miles as it climbs steeply to Maddron Bald Trail. Turn left and continue 0.7 miles to the Appalachian Trail. Turn right at the junction and continue 1.9 miles up the slopes of Mount Guyot.
