Mount Guyot Overview. The summit of Mount Guyot resides directly on the Rocky Mountain Continental Divide only ¾ mile west of the historic Georgia Pass. Named after Arnold (Henri) Guyot (1807-1874) a famous geologist from Switzerland, Mount Guyot (pronounced gui-oat) is the centerpiece of the Front Range’s southwest region.
The Northwest Slope is a fun ski when conditions are right. 4 shows some of the descent choices. The right side of the upper slope ( 11 ) is just under 30 degrees.
Discover this 7.8-mile out-and-back trail near Breckenridge, Colorado. Generally considered a challenging route. This is a popular trail for hiking and running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.
3 lip 2024 · Info: Summited Mount Guyot today; snow was variable, used snowshoes from the beginning of the trail after leaving the road, all the way up to about 300ft away from the summit. Switched to microspikes and had some bulletproof sections throughout the rocks.

Guyot has been on my list for quite some time as a nice climb to do in winter conditions. It marks the western edge of the Front Range as it towers above Breckenridge. It is easily identified from both I-70 and US-285.
