If your goal is FBT, I recommend 2.0s, and that you get 3 base stations minimum. Did my own a/b testing and 2.0s are much more comprehensive , and the refresh rate of your tracked controllers and limbs is noticeably smoother (using tundra trackers). 2.0 hardware can be much more expensive, yes.
Base Station 2.0 powers immersive, precision wide-area tracking. For VIVE Pro Series and Cosmos Elite VR headsets and controllers. Features wireless syncing.
The base stations(aka Lighthouses) just emit coded IR light in a spinning fashion, to be picked up by the Vive Trackers. Because base stations are coded IR lights(and not sensors), they each need to be broadcasting IR light waveforms with a unique channel.

3 mar 2020 · In a nutshell, older hardware with older sensors can only use 1.0 tracking whereas newer hardware with newer sensors (Vive Pro, Vive Cosmos Elite) can work with both 1.0 and 2.0 stations. You cannot use 1.0 and 2.0 basestations at the same time - they conflict.
If the base stations are properly set up, there should only be slight drift of a few cm when a controller is blocked from one base station, but that really shouldn't happen that often in a B&S type game.
1 kwi 2021 · As far as I found out I need the following for a good experience: - 3x HTC Vive Tracker - 3x Dongle (one for each tracker) - 2x Base Station Then there are these track straps for the trackers so you can wear them. Probably you need an USB-Hub for the dongles etc. Alone the trackers and the base stations are very expensive. Even used.
