Tambun rock art, is a series of Neolithic-era cave paintings at the Gunung Panjang limestone hill in Tambun, on the outskirts of Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. The paintings were discovered on a rocky overhang in 1959 [1] by 2/Lt R. L. Rawlings of the 2nd Battalion, 6th Queen Elizabeth's Own Gurkha Rifles.

16 mar 2021 · The Tambun rock art is on a prominent rock face on the west face of Gunung Panjang, a large karstic hill, nearly 2 kilometres long, overlooking Ipoh and the Kinta valley. The hill comprises light grey marble belonging to the Devonian limestone of the Kinta Valley.
Gua Tambun (‘Tambun Cave’) is a rock shelter on the northwest side of Gunong Panjang (‘The Long Mountain’), located in the state of Perak in Peninsular Malaysia (Figure 1). The shelter is located at an elevation of 50 metres and commands a panoramic view of Ipoh, the capital city of Perak.
The rock art site at Gua Tambun in Perak, Malaysia was first reported in 1959 and was noted for its spectacular collection of rock art with depictions of anthropomorphs, animal figures and abstract shapes.
