Im just about to hit 87 slayer (finally) and am just looking at the drop rates for when i get a kraken task. To get the best chance at first trident wouldnt it make sense to go for the smaller cave krakens and have a 1/200 chance of an empty trident and just charge it up compared to the bosses at 512 which could take quite a few tasks to get one?

At an average drop rate, you're supposed to see one of each crystals in a 512-kill cycle. The cost of the crystals are currently: 5.2M Eternal. 29M Primordial. 200K Pegasian. 350K smouldering. This comes out to a total of 34.75M in crystals every 512 kills - or a yield of 67.8K gold per kill.
Kraken is a decent gp boss especially for how easy it is. you should make a profit evey trip, always. However, when you get to the endgame stage where you can do raids, vorkath etc. kraken becomes a pretty bad money maker in comparison, to the points it worth doing just for pet.
