  1. I can't afford to pay back the money if I withdraw so I'd like to use grade forgiveness. Do I have to wait until next semester to apply for it or do I apply now? And would there be any penalties for taking 0s in this course for the rest of the semester?

  2. If you get a "C-" of lower, you can apply online in your MyUCF. If you get a "C" or higher, you would need an exception form (would have to contact your advisors to see if you can get an exception). If you apply grade forgiveness, the grade you get in the repeat replaces the initial attempt.

  3. If I don’t pass the class I know I want to take a break from it all together for a semester and try again next fall, does grade forgiveness still work even if the retake isn’t taken directly after the failed class?

  4. It depends on your professors grading scale. If a D is considered passing for the class and you get a D, it is earned credit. You just have to be careful for how it will affect your BF award. As for your previous question, if you withdraw from a class or receive NC, you’ll have to pay back BF.

  5. You can only apply grade forgiveness when retaking a course. If you received a "C-" or lower, this is applied online through MyUCF. For a "C" or better, you need permission from your advisors in the form of an exception form. Grade forgiveness is due the last day of courses in the semester.

  6. Should a student need to repeat a course due to a degree program requirement that necessitates a grade of “C” or higher, the student can request a Grade Forgiveness exception form from the Registrar’s Office.

  7. I’m in the Accounting program here at UCF and just want to clarify that the rules are the same for classes in your major, or are you not allowed to use grade forgiveness for your major classes? I appreciate the help!
