The French negation is made out of 2 words, ne and pas for the most common one. It's placed around the verb, but in spoken French, only pas is pronounced.

15 wrz 2020 · Ne…pas means “ not ”, but we also use Ne…plus (= not… anymore) or Ne… jamais (= never) and other expressions. In these instances, you can still drop the “ ne ” ! Je ne sais plus quel jour on est. (= I don’t know what day is it anymore.) → Je sais plus quel jour on est.
Using just "ne" as in "Je ne veux te parler" would be the more unusual form, almost like you're speaking very formally or like we spoke a century or two ago or like poetry. Using "ne/pas" (Je ne veux pas te parler) is the correct form and should be the most used.
